We are getting closer to a ban on chimpanzees in biomedical research in the US. The NIH has suspended all new chimpanzee research grants following a report that most research on chimps is unnecessary. www.nytimes.com/2011/12/16/science/chimps-in-medical-research.html?_r=1This is such great news, I hope that attitudes will continue to change and that the chimps still in research facilities will finally be placed in good sanctuaries.  |
